Pastor Brian Harr

Pastor Harr is thrilled that God has called him and his wife, Julie, to serve at Coatesville Missionary Baptist Church.  Pastor Harr has been involved in ministry all of his life.  As a young boy growing up in central Kansas, he was the fourth of five sons born to his parents.  From his earliest days he remembers his parents being active in their local church, where his dad often was the song leader and his mother played the piano.  Although he made a profession of faith in his early years, he came to realize as a teenager that he really did not have a personal walk with the Lord.  Consequently, he genuinely trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his teen years.  When his dad could no longer lead singing, he became the song leader for his small local church.  It was in those years that God called him into full-time service, and he surrendered his life to serve his Savior.  He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC and earned both a BA and MA in Pastoral Studies.  After graduation from undergrad, he met his wife, Julie, and they have both served the Lord together in various ministries ever since.  He has two daughters, Heather and Hannah, and a granddaughter, Evelynn.  He worked for over 25 years at Bob Jones University in various positions on their Public Safety department, including as it’s director.  He has also held various positions in several churches in South Carolina, including Youth Leader, Awana commander, Pastoral Intern, and assistant pastor positions.  He also worked as the director of a federal half-way house.  Prior to moving to Indiana, he was the pastor of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.  He enjoys studying God’s word, watching Andy Griffith reruns, and spending time with his granddaughter. Pastor Harr’s life verse is Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Mrs. Julie Harr

Julie was also born to parents who trusted Jesus Christ alone for their salvation.   In fact, Coastesville Missionary Baptist Church was Juile’s home church as she grew up.  Her parents were farmers near Little Point, Indiana and were faithful members and regular attenders at CMBC for as long as Julie can remember.  A former pastor of CMBC, Malcolm Neier, led Julie to the Lord at the age of 5.  Julie was also baptized by Pastor Neier at CMBC.  In her teen years, Julie surrendered her life completely to her Savior to do whatever He called her to do.  Shortly after surrendering her life to the Lord, Julie felt led of the Lord to pray that God would allow her to marry a preacher and one day return to CMBC as the pastor’s wife, a prayer that she never shared with anyone, not even her husband, until after God answered that prayer and they found themselves in Coatesville.  God indeed had worked in miraculous ways His wonders to perform.  Julie also attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where she studied nursing and obtained her LPN license, before graduating with a BA in Practical Christian Training.  In addition to her various responsibilities as the Pastor’s wife, Julie teaches Sunday School and Junior Church each Sunday and organizes and teaches a monthly ladies’ Bible study.  Julie enjoys teaching children and ladies, and has been involved in mentoring many ladies over the years.  She also enjoys sewing, cooking, and spending time with her daughters and granddaughter. Julie’s life verse is Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
